The history of the company started with Jack’s father, a plumber and pipefitter who was always in need of an extra pair of hands to help out. Jack was glad to be those extra hands. Jack worked for years with his father while completing his schooling. Jack then honed his professional skills as a plumbing apprentice in the 1980s and completed his Master Plumbing Certification in 1991.
Jack got to work in several areas of plumbing as an apprentice: industrial, commercial, and residential new construction. He also worked in construction, residential heating, and other residential services, and put his skills to work on several large projects in Calgary and Southern Alberta, such as the freezing lines of bobsleigh and luge runs, the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant, Sheerness Generating Station, and the Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
In 1995, Jack purchased the assets of Double D Plumbing, where he had completed his apprenticeship. He used these assets to start Simcor Plumbing. The company flourished as Jack’s reputation for honesty and fairness spread around Calgary. Ace Plumbing and Heating is the result of Jack’s work to find the best technicians committed to customer satisfaction.
Jack’s vision includes hiring technicians who were either indentured apprentices or journeymen. They must be clean and courteous and pass background checks so clients can be certain of professional workmanship, friendly service, and safety in their own home.
