As General Manager of Ace Plumbing in Calgary, Rememberance Day holds a special place in my heart and in the hearts of our entire team. Having served as a Commanding Officer for RCSCC Undaunted Sea Cadets, I understand firsthand the dedication, commitment, and sacrifice our veterans and active service members make to safeguard our freedoms and values.
Rememberance Day Has Deep Root’s in Calgary
The military presence in Calgary has deep roots. From the historic Currie Barracks to Mewata Armoury, where countless service members have trained and served. Our city’s strong military heritage continues to influence our community, with organizations like the Military Museums on Crowchild Trail preserving and sharing these important stories for future generations.
Through My Years With The Sea Cadets
I have also witnessed young Canadians grow in strength and character. Embracing the values of discipline, teamwork, and service to country. These experiences often took place right here in Calgary, where cadets trained at facilities like HMCS Tecumseh, our local naval reserve division. I have also seen how military service instills a sense of responsibility and purpose. Qualities that these veterans carry into all areas of their lives.
Many veterans have transitioned into civilian life, bringing their exceptional skills and work ethic into a variety of industries. Here in Calgary we have also seen former service members excel in the energy sector, construction, and skilled trades. Their military background provides them with unique problem solving abilities, leadership skills, as well as an unwavering commitment to excellence. Qualities that also strengthen our local businesses and communities.
What Rememberance Day Means To Ace Plumbing
At Ace Plumbing, we take immense pride in honoring veterans, especially those who have found a new calling in skilled trades. The precision, attention to detail, and dedication they bring to their work mirrors the high standards they maintained during their service. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside veterans who have transitioned into plumbing and HVAC trades. Their expertise and professionalism continue to inspire our entire team.
Calgary’s veteran community also faces unique challenges. Mainly by adapting to civilian life and dealing with our city’s climate as well as dealing with a volitile housing market. Because I understand these challenges, I have designed our services to provide reliable, efficient solutions that acknowledge their service and sacrifice. Our team is trained to be sensitive to the specific needs of veterans, by including those who may be dealing with service-related disabilities or require specialized accommodations.
How We Can Honor Our Veterans
On this Remembrance Day, I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect and express gratitude. Whether through attending the Field of Crosses, Central Memorial Park ceremonies or visiting the Military Museums. You can also make a donation at your local Royal Canadian Legion branch. Please take the time for a moment of silence on November 11 at 11:00 AM, recognizing the sacrifices made by these individuals helps keep their legacy alive.
In honor of Remembrance Day, we have created a special Veterans Membership Program as a small token of our appreciation. This program is designed specifically for the Calgary veteran community. Because we understand the unique needs of maintaining homes in our challenging climate. The membership includes.
- An annual maintenance service visit with a comprehensive Tune-Up of the plumbing system (up to 4 bathrooms). To make sure everything runs efficiently through our extreme seasonal changes
- An annual maintenance service visit with a Tune-Up of the heating system (up to 2 furnaces or 1 Boiler system). Crucial for Calgary’s harsh winters
- A detailed Plumbing and Heating inspection report with recommendations specific to your home’s needs
- Two day priority scheduling with 10% discount on all plumbing and heating services
- Double the warranty on all repairs, providing extra peace of mind
If you or a loved one has served, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This gesture is just one way Ace Plumbing would like to express our deepest gratitude to the veteran community that has given so much to protect our way of life.
